The name of Essie’s newest selection, Wild Nudes, is a bit of a misnomer. While there are 2 taupe-y colors (which, let’s add, do not count for your full spectrum of “nude”), the rest are what I had created describe as dusky pastels or subversive neutrals. Therefore let’s just forget the name and focus on the tones, which are all actually quite cool and incredibly beautiful (and officially out in May). Each one, whether peach, glowing blue, green, or apricot, has a tinge of gray that provides the subtle hue an edge. It also means they won’t contend with your ring stacks (whether gold, rose gold, or even silver) or clash with your wardrobe — muted shades like these pretty much go with anything. And while each of these colors the great single-shade manicure, as manicurist Alicia Torello shows all of us with the nail art design she came up with using the selection, they also play very nicely together.
