We’ ve most of sported bad hairstyles at one point in our lifestyles. Here’ s how to make sure it never happens once again.
I’ ll never forget the first time I attempted a “ drastic” new haircut. I was in European countries, Paris to be specific, and my friends and I were strolling down the Champs Elysees when we thought, “ Hey, great would it be to get our hair cut in Paris?! ” Spurred with enthusiasm and adventure, we continued strolling until we came across a ritzy salon (but actually, what isn’ t ritzy on the Champs Elysees? ) and plopped our large American butts on the luxurious, white salon chairs, eagerly awaiting our French change for better.
Now, I didn’ t know what I desired, not in the least, but I have an oval face form with high cheekbones, so with the understanding that any hair cut would work well, in my best bohemian, IDGAF voice, delicately told my hairstylist to give me something… different. It may be whatever she wanted; it just had to be different from the particular long, wavy hair I sported (and forgot in order to brush) every. single. day. So there she proceeded to go, cutting, snipping and taking a LOT of hair off.

It’ s never a good look when the very first thing that comes to mind is: Holy sh**. I look like Willy Wonka. And no, not Gene Wilder’ s Wonka, however the creepy Johnny Deep Wonka that gave every kid nightmares and sent every adult back to their counselor to discuss their childhood and whether or not their father actually did love them.
What am I actually trying to say with this story? Well, 1) unless you’ re ready for a drastic change, don’ t ask for 1, 2) even if your father didn’ t love a person, we do, and 3) always, always know the face shape before deciding on a hairstyle.
