The silicone makeup sponge has taken the beauty planet by storm, but does it live up to its hype? Here’ s what you need to know about the “ silisponge” …

Silicone Makeup Sponge The Next Best Thing?

When I first heard about the silicone makeup sponge I needed to try it out as soon as I could. As a professional make-up artist, a makeup applicator that will cut my item consumption in half and will be a breeze to clean is heaven delivered. So with a bit of research and personal use, here’ s our silicone makeup sponge review. If you haven’ t used the silicone makeup sponge that’ s taking the elegance world off its feet, I have the review only for you.

On the get-go, when I first received my package that contains the silicone makeup sponge, I see that it’ h a clear gel like pouch that is smooth on both edges about half an inch thick and about 2 inches simply by 3 inches around. I used it as soon as I opened up the packaging and although my first go wasn’ t as successful, I had to say I love how quick cleaning this product is.

Unlike the regular makeup cloth or sponge where you have to soap and squeeze out what you may, you only need to rinse the silicone makeup sponge within soap and running water and dry it with a soft towel or tissue and voila! It’ s ready for recycle. You can even disinfect this in 70% isopropyl alcohol, at this point who wouldn’ t like that?

If cleansing is a breeze, the application isn’ t as easy as I thought it will be, but I just love how convenient this tool is for an expert makeup artist so I was willing to give it another photo. this time using a liquid foundation –

I used a drugstore brand   of liquid foundation this time around, with half the quantity of what I usually use, and instead of blending it throughout the face I applied using a tapping motion much like exactly how Jeffree Star did it in his review and demo movie of the silisponge. Surprised as I am, it worked method better without any streaks.

Judging by the look of the foundation on Jeffree Superstar and his reactions, he must have really liked how the app turned out.

Therefore of course , the next test is to try using the silicone make-up sponge on other people by employing the same tapping motion in order to transfer product on the face and so far it has worked well perfectly as well. Although it’ s a bit tricky to obtain in smaller corners like the corners of the nose plus eyes or with using a more viscous product just like a cream-based foundation or a heavier consistency concealer ..

It’ s certainly usable and it gives a really good velvety finish without any lines. I have yet to try it on dry, flaky pores and skin but I imagine, since flaky skin needs much less abrasion, the silicone makeup sponge might be a good product to utilize. I have to give it a try on troubled skin too, in order to provide a proper feedback, but just judging how stiff the particular silicone makeup sponge is, it might be harder to push the product down on acne-prone skin, I suppose that will be an revise on this blog entry.

But please, check out the whole Silicone Sponge Make-up review and demo by Jeffree Star below:

When there is one thing I learned while testing this product out, which is to be open to possibilities. Initially, I thought that blending basis with this tool will not work, but because I made a decision to give it another try and used a different technique other than the things i know, the silisponge is something I’ m contemplating to use more often because of how hygienic it is and how nicely it can blend foundation on bigger skin surface.

How about you? Have you attempted the silicone makeup sponge yet? Let me know what you consider it in the comments section below. If you’ re questioning how this differs to other makeup sponge tools, understand this review on the cult favorite makeup blending cloth or sponge.
