This Flashdance Palette Can Help You Channel Your Inner Teyana Taylor
When it comes to classic movies that never get old, Flashdance is right up there with 16 Candles and Footloose. And now there’s an actual palette to get you in the spirit of watching the 33-year-old (!) movie again. (#TBT night, anyone?) The creation comes courtesy of three-year-old beauty brand Sola Look, whose cruelty-free and vegan products have gained major traction with vloggers all over Instagram.
If a Flashdance-inspired palette seems a little random, that’s what we thought, too. But then we remembered Teyana Taylor, whose Flashdance-inspired dance routine in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video stole the show at the MTV VMAs. (She even taught Allure editors her killer moves.) Even if you don’t know how to dance (same), you can channel Taylor and Flashdance with the four matte eye-shadow shades in the palette. Each hue is named after a character, theme, or song in the movie: Alex (beige caramel), Jeanie (brick), Maniac (deep plum), and Passion (dark chocolate).
While the colors are superpigmented, blendable, and easily wearable, the packaging (above) is just really fun. Alex Owens (Jennifer Beals) is in all her ’80s glory on the front, and the inside features Alex being picked up by Nick Hurley (Michael Nouri). (So romantic.) Pick up one for $32 at solalook.com. And if you sing “Maniac” while applying it, no judgement from us.
